In 2011, 192 children entered the juvenile court system of the 13th Judicial District as victims of abuse and neglect. In an effort to protect their safety, many of these children were removed from their parents, schools, and communities and placed in foster homes.
To help children through this traumatic time, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer called a CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocate. The CASA is appointed to speak for the best interest of children brought into the judicial system as victims of abuse and neglect.
Tri-County CASA, Inc. volunteers advocate for children in the 13th Judicial District in Butler, Greenwood, and Elk counties in Kansas. Our staff is available to answer any questions you may have regarding the important role of a CASA in a child’s life. Please call us at (316) 320-0238 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
